"Your Art in Schools program fueled by your selflessness in making your private art collection available to schools across our nation has influenced countless young people and provided them with the joy and inspiration that such extraordinary art can bring. I have no doubt that the fulfillment inherent in your service is reward enough, but I would like to add my personal gratitude and admiration for your generosity and community spirit."

From Impressionism, Cubism, to the Italian Renaissance, antiquities, old master paintings, royal documents, European portraiture, and objects of royal provenance ... many mediums and periods are represented.
The collection is committed to the benefit of children and now serves in partnership with select public and private schools throughout the country where the collection is brought into the classroom for extended periods and studied by children for the enhancement and encouragement of their own artistic abilities. |
|
To date, portions of the collection have been viewed by over 50,000 children. The collection and associated work with children, through Art and History In Schools, has received national recognition and in 2006 was awarded The Points of Light Award.
Recent acquisitions to the collection include Walk in the Park, a late 19th century Belle Epoque period oil portrait by Adolf Pirsch; a priceless and one-of-a-kind silver-gilt tea glass spoon by the famed goldsmith to the court of Imperial Russia, Peter Carl Fabergé, acquired from Sotheby's London; Giovanni Battista Pasqualini's master engraving from the year 1624 Christ Delivering the Keys to Heaven; a Boeotian Terracotta Statue from the 6th century BC, acquired from the Santa Barbara Museum of Art; two important oil paintings from the Austrian School; and the conclusion of a commercial treaty between Great Britain and Prussia signed by King George IV in 1824, acquired from Sotheby's New York.
